I started Hales Law (previously Targhee Law) in 2015 after leaving my full-time law practice in Orlando, Florida. It was then that I moved to Idaho and began a career in academia, eventually becoming a professor in the Business Management Department. I now teach classes on business law and business writing.

When not in the classroom, I continue to help clients, especially those with timeshare-related issues. It has also given me occasion to include my undergraduate students from my business law class in limited research as I assist clients with their vacation properties.

Beyond researching and publishing on timeshare legal issues, my other passion involves finding and transcribing British common law cases, with a focus on the 16th and 17th centuries. My wife humors me with this hobby and recently gifted me a membership with the Selden Society for English Legal History.
